Jamie Redknapp believes the introduction of Ian Poveda and Rodrigo Moreno in the second-half made a huge difference for Leeds United in their 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
The Whites picked up their seventh point of the season despite Raheem Sterling’s early opener for Pep Guardiola’s team.
Poveda was brought on at half-time for Ezgjan Alioski, and looked a constant threat on the right-hand side, running at Benjamin Mendy.
Mendy was brought off, later on, indicating how effective Poveda was when he came on.
Just 11 minutes into the second-half, Rodrigo replaced Tyler Roberts for the hosts, and the Spaniard made an immediate impact.
After a scrap from a corner, the ball rather fortuitously fell to Rodrigo, who swivelled before turning it in with his right foot.
The Spanish striker could have got himself a second, but Ederson tipped the ball onto the crossbar following a powerful header.
Redknapp, speaking at full-time in the Sky Sports studio, explained how the substitutions from Marcelo Bielsa may have changed the outcome of the match.
"Man City fans may feel disappointed that they threw away a couple of points there, but I think that would be doing Leeds a disservice,” Redknapp said.
“They were excellent, particularly in the second half. Bielsa made a couple of good substitutions, bringing on Rodrigo and Poveda - who was very good when he came on.
“He gave Mendy so many problems, he couldn’t deal with him and he had to make a tactical change and bring Mendy off in the end. A high-level game, really enjoyable, played at such a good pace.”
