A woman shared a TikTok about a date that gave her what she called “sketchy vibes.” The reason? The man allegedly recorded her while he was in the bathroom to make sure she wasn’t talking to anyone else.
In a video with more than 205,000 views, TikToker @v.o.ax described the encounter. She said she went on a date with a man who “[left] his second phone recording” her.
The revelation left hundreds of commenters questioning the man’s motives. Some wondered what type of “weird” behavior would lead someone to leave a recording device running during a date.
“[Please] tell me you just recorded it for proof and didn’t just went about this like it was acceptable?” Asked one concerned commenter.
Was it deliberate?
Some viewers speculated as to whether the man recorded her intentionally to make sure she wasn’t interacting with others at the restaurant. @v.o.ax replied to one TikTok comment, confirming that he “out-front” said he wanted to watch her for that reason.
“Wait..so he told you out front he was recording to make sure of that? Or he tried to be slick and obviously wasn’t?” asked one viewer. @v.o.ax responded, “he said it out front.”

It’s unclear whether @v.o.ax was joking, but she wrote in her video caption that she took the man’s phone with her when she left. Many commenters applauded the move, saying she was right not to sit and wait while he recorded her.
Her caption read, “I am now the proud owner of 2 iPhones.”
She later confirmed the detail in the comments. “I’m assuming y’all are together because if [not], I would’ve [gotten] up and [done] EXACTLY what he thought I was going to do,” one viewer wrote. @v.o.ax replied, “I’m single.
