HBO 'Silicon Valley' actor T.J. Miller arrested on suspicion of battery on driver in Hollywood Hills

LOS ANGELES _ HBO's "Silicon Valley" actor T.J. Miller was arrested early Friday on suspicion of battery on a car service driver in the Hollywood Hills, police said.

The car company driver reported the attack about 1 a.m. in the 6900 block of Camrose Drive, said Officer Jenny Houser, a spokeswoman for the Los Angeles Police Department. The driver requested a private person's arrest.

"It didn't happen in front of officers," Houser said.

Officers investigated the report and arrested Miller.

He was cited on the misdemeanor offense and immediately released, Houser said.

Police did not release further details about the battery allegation.

On Thursday, Miller sat down with Conan O'Brien to promote his new movie, according to Miller's Twitter account.

Miller's new film, "Office Christmas Party," was released Friday in theaters. He is also set to host the Critics' Choice Awards on Sunday at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Miller is best known for his role as Erlich Bachman in the quirky Mike Judge show "Silicon Valley." Miller plays the owner of a home that serves as headquarters for a fledgling start-up.

He also starred as Ryan Reynold's reluctant friend in the superhero flick "Deadpool."
