Hazard, Rudiger, Alonso, Hudson-Odoi, Kovacic - Every Chelsea player rated for the season so far

Chelsea are into the final international break of the season with their 2018/19 campaign currently on a knife-edge.

The Premier League top four race is going to go down to the wire and at the moment the Blues are having to play catch up.

Maurizio Sarri's side are sixth, one point behind Manchester United and three behind Arsenal with eight matches to go.

The Blues have tricky tests at Old Trafford and Anfield in that time, while their performances against some of the 'lesser' teams has left a lot to be desired.

Qualifying for the Champions League might actually have to come through winning the Europa League, with a quarter-final coming up against Slavia Prague next month.

But who has performed well for the Blues and who has struggled to make an impact this season?

Christian Pulisic reveals what it's now like for him at Dortmund after sealing Chelsea move

Kepa Arrizabalaga

He has had a decent first campaign with 11 clean sheets in the Premier League, however his season so far will be defined by that Carabao Cup final moment when he refused to be substituted.

However, the Spaniard has quietly put in some decent displays this season, despite some of the protection in front of him not being the best. 7

Willy Caballero

Only been given a chance really in the cup competitions, but when Kepa was dropped for the Premier League game with Tottenham Hotspur, he was an excellent replacement. 6

Antonio Rudiger

Out of the starting centre-backs, Rudiger has been the most consistent and has put in some really impressive performances. The biggest surprise is probably his range of passing that has been superb.

However, at times he has been a little unpredictable and the cohesion between himself and Luiz has been lacking, meaning Chelsea have dropped points. Always gives a top effort, though. 7

Marcos Alonso

After a really bright start to the season, things have really deteriorated for the Spaniard after he signed his new contract back in October.

He has kept his place in the starting XI in the Premier League, but his performances at left-back have gone downhill. Needs a big finish to the campaign. 3

Davide Zappacosta

The usual back-up for the right-back role and he has really not been given much of a chance this season, which isn't much of a surprise.

Whenever he has had the chance in the cup competitions he hasn't really impressed, either, meaning that his future at the Blues is up in the air. 4

The three words Jadon Sancho said to Callum Hudson-Odoi upon his arrival at the England camp

Gary Cahill

He might be club captain, but that hasn't turned into appearances for the former England international and he hasn't played for the Blues since November 29.

The 33-year-old is set for an exit this summer and it has been a shame to see his final season play out like this. 4

Andreas Christensen

He has struggled for Premier League action this season with just three starts during the campaign, but he has been a regular in the cup competitions.

The 22-year-old has put in some decent performances after a difficult start to the season, but he hasn't had the chances that he would have wanted. 6

Cesar Azpilicueta

After two fantastic seasons for the Blues under Antonio Conte, the Spaniard has moved to the right-back position and he hasn't had the best season compared to his usual standards.

The 29-year-old signed a new deal with the Blues and in some games he has been at the top of his game, including Spurs at home, but the consistency hasn't been there. 5

David Luiz

He has won his spot back in the starting XI this season and his range of passing has been such an asset to Sarri and the way that he plays.

However, there have been a lot of defensive slips from the Brazilian which have cost the Blues points and it is a worrying element to his game that has never been eradicated. 5

Ethan Ampadu

It has been a frustrating season for the 18-year-old. Having broken into the side under Antonio Conte, Ampadu has hardly played under Sarri and only been given three Europa League appearances and two League Cup showings.

He should really have gone out on loan to develop more in senior football, however he hasn't been given that shot. 5

Emerson Palmieri

Should be getting more first team chances in the Premier League due to the form of Alonso, but he has once again been the back-up for the Spaniard.

When he has been given the chance he has impressed, apart from the defeat at Bournemouth, but he needs more regular time on the pitch to grow into the side. 5

Harry Kane reveals how Callum Hudson-Odoi has made his impact in England training

Jorginho

Brought in as Sarri's man to be the heart of the midfield, integrate the system and set the tempo. He certainly started the season in that way, showing great form and proving his worth.

But as teams started to figure him out, his performances also dipped and some fans have even turned on him. Had a little resurgence recently but needs to get back to the high levels. 6

Danny Drinkwater

Hasn't played a game all season, except in the Community Shield. Can't really get a rating. N/A

Jorginho's agent Joao Santos speaks out on criticisms of Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea's struggles

N'Golo Kante

Still adjusting, it feels like, to the more advanced role, but his ability to drive at the defence and then show recovery has been important to the way that the Blues have played.

However, it still feels a bit of a waste that he isn't playing in a more central role, giving more protection to the back line and then going box-to-box which he is best at. 7

Ross Barkley

A massive improvement from last year and overcoming the injuries and he started the season well, coming off good form in pre-season and playing on the left of the three in midfield.

Had a superb October, but since then has been a bit in and out of form and doesn't seem to offer enough to the midfield. 6

Ruben Loftus-Cheek

A frustrating season in terms of injury, missing a few weeks in January during to his back problems and also this week pulling out of international duty.

He has only started one Premier League game, but when he has been given the chance to play he has looked good and Chelsea fans are wanting to see more from him. 6

Mateo Kovacic

Came on loan from Real Madrid with a big reputation, but really he has failed to deliver. Playing on the left of the midfield, he has only provided two assists and not found the back of the net yet.

The 24-year-old has actually looked more comfortable playing as back-up to Jorginho, but so much talent and probably been the biggest disappointment. 4

What Jim Ratcliffe's takeover of Team Sky means for potential Chelsea bid

Willian

An inconsistent season from the Brazilian who was linked with a move away in the summer and in January. The 30-year-old has made 22 Premier League starts for the Blues this season, but just three goals and five assists.

Some of his set pieces have been erratic as well and his future is up in the air. 5

Callum Hudson-Odoi

There has been a lot of talk around the 18-year-old and his future, while Chelsea fans have been frustrated that he is yet to start a Premier League game, despite impressing in cup matches.

The winger has shown flashes of what he can do, nut the only thing that he needs is some confidence in him from Sarri. 6

Pedro

A productive season in the Premier League with eight goals to his name so far and at times he has shown the brilliance that we have known from him over the course of his Chelsea time.

However, the lack of consistency has been the worrying thing and at times he has struggled to make an impact in matches. Constantly works hard, though. 7

Eden Hazard

After a superb start to the season, Sarri said Eden Hazard could score 40 goals in the campaign. That always seemed a little far fetched and that's not really the player that he is.

With 13 goals and 1 assists in the league alone, however, he certainly has given a lot back and the Blues need him to have a strong end to the season. 8

Familiar face the favourite to replace Maurizio Sarri at Chelsea - but it's not Lampard or Terry

Gonzalo Higuain

Just three goals during his short time at Chelsea so far and they came against Huddersfield (two) and Fulham, so hardly hitting the dizzy heights that Chelsea fans were hoping for.

Needs to show more in the bigger matches and prove that he is not a flat-track bully. 5

Olivier Giroud

In the Europa League he has been absolutely superb. Nine goals in nine games has been the main reason that Chelsea have cruised into the quarter-finals.

Still struggling to get playing time in the Premier League, however, which brings down his score somewhat. 6
