Hays Travel gives staff reward app after link up with fellow North East firm

Two North East firms have come together to roll out a staff reward programme for more than 5,000 employees.

Redu, which is based in Seaham, has partnered with Sunderland’s Hays Travel to roll out the Reward Me Now employee benefits app to Hays’ 5,400 staff members.

Hays became the UK’s largest independent travel agent last year when it took over thousands of jobs at Thomas Cook and bought its former rivals’ shop network.

The company has won a number of awards for staff engagement, and has now given employees a further boost by launching a tailored
Hays Travel Employee Rewards service which is accessible on staff mobiles.

Reward Me Now offers savings across a wide range of high street brands such as Currys PC World, Virgin Experience Days and Debenhams.

Helen Liddle, head of human resources at Hays Travel, said: “We are constantly exploring the market for benefits that can attract, retain and engage our staff but most importantly give employees a financial or health and wellbeing benefit that is a unique perk of working for Hays Travel. It is often difficult to find a platform which is free for both the company and the employee so you can imagine our delight when fellow North East business Reward Me Now got in touch to offer this amazing app.”

The new app allows Hays to reward and recognise employees for their hard work without any expense to the company as the scheme has no set-up fee or monthly charge to the employer. Employees also receive discounts at over 130 high street stores and online brands, including Asda, Pizza Express, Asos and Argos, with regular users already on track to save over £500 a year.
