Hayley Tamaddon shows off her growing baby bump on the red carpet after revealing she is expecting her first child at 42

She announced that she's expecting her first child at age 42 after thinking she could never have children, and Hayley Tamaddon revealed her growing baby bump on the red carpet in Manchester.

The former Corrie star proudly cradled her bump as she posed for photos on the way into Palace Theatre to watch the musical comedy The Book of Mormon.

Mum-to-be Hayley looked summery in a green and white striped dress with a denim jacket and strappy wedge heels with neon pink detail.

The actress announced her exciting news in April, telling her followers on social media: "EXCITING NEWS TWEET!! I'm so pleased to tell you all... I’m expecting my first child with my wonderful boyfriend Adrian!!

"I've always wanted to be a mum and didn't think I could have children. And now, at the ripe old age of 42 - I'M PREGNANT! We couldn't be happier."

Three weeks later Hayley, who played Andrea Beckett in Corrie, showed off her sparkler of an engagement ring after her partner Adrian popped the question.

Hayley was joined at the press night by a raft of her former Corrie co-stars including Sally Dynevor, Alison King, who plays Carla Connor and Jennie McAlpine who plays Fiz Brown, Daniel Brocklebank who plays vicar Billy Mayhew and Peter Ash who plays his on-screen boyfriend Paul Foreman.

Alexandra Mardell who plays Emma Brooker, Sair Khan who plays Alya Nazir and Charlie De Melo who plays Imran Habeeb also swapped the famous cobbles for a night at the theatre.

Catherine Tyldesley, who played Eva Price in the show until last summer, walked the red carpet with her husband Tom Pitfield in a pretty floral dress and Antony Cotton, who plays Sean Tully in the ITV soap, was joined by his rugby player friend Keegan Hirst, who said he was feeling cultured after going to the theatre for the third time in two weeks.

Katie McGlynn, who plays new mum Sinead Osbourne, rocked the carpet in ripped skinny jeans, a black biker jacket and baker boy hat and Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt smiled for the cameras in a red jacket and pale blue jeans alongside her man Tom Leech.

Jimmi Harkishin, who plays Weatherfield icon Dev Alahan, shared a laugh with Victoria Ekanoye who played Angie Appleton, and Kate Connor actress Faye Brookes dazzled in a jewelled headband.

Other celeb guests at the press night included Hollyoaks actress Ruby O'Donnell, TV presenter Terry Christian and Phoenix Nights star Dave Spikey as the celebrated its official opening at the Palace Theatre.

The Book of Mormon is running until Saturday August 24.
