In the second quarter of the Tuesday night's game in Miami, Hawks guard Trae Young appeared to come down awkwardly on his right ankle and was helped back to the locker room.
According to the Hawks, Young sprained the ankle.
Young did not appear to be able to put much weight on the ankle when leaving the court, but it's unclear how serious the sprain is, or how much playing time he will miss.
X-rays for Young's right ankle were negative, a source confirmed to the AJC (first reported by ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski).
Young was named the NBA's Eastern Conference player of the week Monday. He averaged 38.5 points, nine rebounds and seven assists through the Hawks' first two games, leading the team to a 2-0 start, and added 25 points and nine assists in the loss to the Sixers Monday.
