Hawks offense continues to roll in 117-96 win over 76ers

ATLANTA _ The Hawks offense continues to come in waves _ and this time the 76ers were hit with a tidal force.

The Hawks had six double-digit scorers and another with nine points on the way to a 117-96 victory over the 76ers Saturday night at Philips Arena. The Hawks have scored more than 100 points in eight of their nine games this season, losing only once in those contests.

Tim Hardaway Jr. led the Hawks with a game-high 20 points. Kent Bazemore had 17 points, Dennis Schroder had 16 points, Kyle Korver had 14 points, Kris Humphries had 11 points and Dwight Howard had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds. Malcolm Delaney finished with nine points.

The Hawks (7-2) have won four straight games and five straight over the 76ers.

Howard moved past Hall of Famer Dolph Schayes for 27th in NBA/ABA history with 11,261 rebounds.

The Sixers (1-8) were led by Jahlil Okafor with 18 points.

The Hawks used a 14-2 run to start the second quarter to erase an early deficit and take an eight-point lead. The 76ers took a first-quarter lead after the Hawks committed nine turnovers that lead to 13 points in the period. In the second quarter, the Hawks committed just two turnovers.

The Hawks took a 59-48 advantage into intermission. They outscored the 76ers 36-21 in the second quarter with Bazemore and Hardaway Jr. scoring seven points each and Humphries scoring six points, all to start the quarter-beginning run.
