Hawker Market at By The River Brew in Gateshead is all set for spring re-opening

Fans of the Hawker Market - or HWKRMRKT - next to the By The River Brew Co. in Gateshead will be delighted to know that the street food traders will be back in action in April.

The popular outdoor market, sharing the banks of the Tyne site with the container village, has been closed for the winter when its exposed position - albeit tucked under the curving arch of the bridge and being provided some shelter from canopies - might have proved too much for even the sturdiest Geordie.

But it is now gearing up to take advantage of the improving weather and it will be ready to re-open on April 18, just in time for the Easter Bank Holiday Weekend.
