A 65-year-old man has been killed after a shark attack in Hawaii.
The unnamed victim was reportedly bitten off Maui while visiting from California., and had been around 60 yards off shore when the attack happened.
He was brought to shore following the gruesome incident and given CPR but could not be revived, Hawaii News Now reports.
The County of Maui Department of Fire and Public Safety attended the scene just before 9am local time with a jetski and a helicopter to find him.
The Hawai'i Department of Land and Natural Resources has put up warning signs in the area as a result of the tragedy, the news site adds.
The man's death is reportedly the first fatality in the area in four years.
