'Havertz has touched down!' - Chelsea fans go crazy as Kai Havertz scores first Blues goal

Kai Havertz has opened his goal-scoring account for Chelsea, netting his side's second goal in their Carabao Cup tussle with Championship side Barnsley at Stamford Bridge this evening.

After showing little signs of promise in his first two Premier League outings against Brighton & Hove Albion and Liverpool respectively, Havertz was kept in the starting line-up for this evening's Carabao Cup third round tie against the Tykes, despite head coach Frank Lampard making a plethora of changes.

Having seen Tammy Abraham fire the Blues into a 19th-minute lead on his first start of the season, Havertz calmly tucked away the Blues' second of the night from close range to net his first goal in English football.

Though his first strike for his new club has come against lower league opposition, it will no doubt boost the confidence of the talented youngster after a disappointing first couple of outings for his new club.

But it appears as though Havertz has managed to showcase his talents fully because of Lampard changing his position.

Against both Brighton and Liverpool, Havertz, signed for an initial fee of £72million earlier this month, was deployed on the right-wing of a front three, though the youngster is more accustomed to operating in the No.10 position behind the striker.

And it was from that position where Havertz was able to make his move to put himself in a position to net his first Blues goal, as Abraham dummied a pass to allow the German to pick up position and slot the ball beyond former Blues goalkeeper Bradley Collins in the Barnsley goal.

And his opening goal in Chelsea colours most certainly got the Blues fans raving on social media.

With that in mind, here is a close look at what some Chelsea fans have had to say on Twitter...
