'Havertz deal off!' - Chelsea fans can't believe the Said Benrahma transfer rumours

Chelsea fans have voiced concerns over whether the club will land Kai Havertz after the news they had entered into negotiations with Said Benrahma.

The Brentford attacker has been in stunning form in the Championship this season and would undoubtedly be an exciting addition to the Blues.

Yet with Chelsea having been consistently linked to Bayer Leverkusen star Havertz over the last few months, many Blues fans are keen to see him at Stamford Bridge, particularly with the club set to clinch the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig.

Oliver Harbord's Chelsea Q&A: Timo Werner and Kai Havertz latest and more

Of course, it is entirely possible that both players could end up at the Blues, yet with Hakim Ziyech also arriving from Ajax, this would arguably make Chelsea's attacking depth among the strongest in the Premier League.

It would also mean a level of spending many had not expected from the club this season.

Chelsea are in need of wingers, though, with question marks over the future of both Pedro and Willian.

Both players are out of contract this summer and look unlikely to sign new deals at the club - hence why the Blues are so keen to strengthen the flanks this summer.

With that being the case, Benrahma would be an exciting signing.

The 24-year-old has been among the best performers in the Championship this season, netting 10 goals and creating eight more from the wing.

Would his arrival mean the end of a chase for Havertz, though?

Here is what fans on Twitter make of the deal...

It is fair to say Chelsea are splashing the cash so far this summer and their proposed signings would create plenty of excitement at Stamford Bridge.

The club appear keen to make up for their lack of action in the last two transfer windows having been hit with a transfer ban for the summer of 2019.

Yet, as some fans point out, is too much of a focus on their attacking positions going to cost them defensively?
