Haven't Met targets young

Haven’t Met Hotel gives millennial travellers a home away from home.

A new lifestyle accommodation, Haven’t Met Hotel on Silom Road, has been launched to serve millennial travellers from Asia and elsewhere.

Chayaphon Hunrungroj, chairman of Sincere Capital Land, said the company has invested 120 million baht in the new hotel, which is now open and targeting millennial guests.

"Thailand has a lot of new hotels launching, but not many of them target the real needs of millennial travellers," Mr Chayaphon said, referring to customers aged 18-34.

"As a new Thai brand, we aim to offer affordable, experience-led stays," he said. "Our target occupancy is 80% in the first year and we expect the level to reach 90% in the second year."

Situated in Bangkok’s Silom business district, the hotel is offering 70 rooms with prices starting from 2,500 baht per night.

Mr Chayaphon predicts that international arrivals to Bangkok will continue to increase during the remaining months of 2017 and through the coming years, prompting the hotel to take advantage of future growth.

Executive director Patrick Pratummanee said the inspiration behind the Haven’t Met concept is today’s young, affluent travellers who are looking for practical comfort in a convenient location.

"They need a base to explore the city and they want to know the best things to see, to do, and what’s new," Mr Patrick said. "They also want to share their travel experience with their social network and make new friends.”

To meet such demand, the hotel offers a hotel app that lets customers plan their trip together before they check in, share experiences during their stay and upload memories after the trip.

The app gives them the inside track on what Bangkok has to offer, and they can then experience the city with a choice of specially selected travel experiences that can be booked directly on their device.

The company expects to break even in five years, and the team at Haven’t Met Hotel is exploring new destinations in Thailand to launch owned and managed hotel properties in downtown, riverfront locations in Bangkok and other cities, as well as in resort destinations like Phuket.
