"Haven't felt my best": TV actress Kishwer Merchant shares photos of her newborn, quips about her challenging C-sec delivery

As often as we associate pregnancy and giving birth to be a lovable and memorable experience as a whole, it can also be a painful ordeal and take a toll on a woman's body. Recovery can be long too. While welcoming a new life may take all the pain away, it still is a rather 'less glam' part of pregnancy that we do not hear about often. And now, a new mother, and celebrity, Kishwer Merchant is talking about the not so lovable and fun parts of pregnancy and giving birth.

Television star, Merchant who welcomed her first child, a son, last week (Friday, August 27) with actor-husband Suyassh Rai took to Instagram to share her experience with childbirth. Kishwer, who gave birth to her son via a C-sec delivery has bravely talked about how she's been feeling, and the struggles and challenges she overcame through the delivery.

While there's a tall misconception about C-sec deliveries being "easier", Kishwer's post, where she can be seen cradling her young one ( the face has been blurred) highlights just how taxing, and painful giving birth can be- from endless painkillers, tiredness struggles with latching or feeding or sleepless nights and, why new parents need all the help and support they can get, postpartum.

Sharing an adorable photo on Instagram with her little 'Bugs Bunny', which invited hearts and love from celebs and fans akin, Kishwer wrote:

"My Bugs Bunny, I know there have been a lot of problems... I haven't been the best, with the C-section, pain killers, tiredness, anxiety and breastfeeding... but like we promised each other today, we both will help each other in this journey and make things better for us, love you my son #sukishkababy."

She also shared another heartwarming picture on Instagram, where she, her husband Suyash can be seen closely embracing the baby. The couple hasn't declared the baby's name yet.

It's strangely not the first time Kishwer has taken to social media to talk about the unpleasant side-effects associated with pregnancy. The 40-year-old actress, who had a pandemic pregnancy previously quipped that being pregnant isn't exactly as 'hunky-dory' as it is pictured out to be. Apart from the adorable excitement of nesting a baby inside, she added that there are moments that make every mom-to-be feel very uneasy:

“It's not all 'Hunky Dory'!!! A little about my pregnancy experience. Cons: #thyroid #haemorrhoids #Itchybreasts #moodswings swings #stretchmarkoil

How can new moms feel at ease post giving birth?

Childbirth, be it natural labour or via a C-sec isn't the easiest or pleasant of experiences. While giving birth during a pandemic adds altogether more anxiety for some, new mothers need all the love and support to recover well, feel comfortable and most of all, needed to be taken care of so that they are in a better state to take care of themselves. If you are a new mom,

-Do not feel anxious or guilty asking for help and support from a partner, parent or a close trusted friend.
