Yay! Christmas HAS come early after all. Well, sort of. I mean it has if the only words on your letter to Lapland were "I've been really good. Please, PLEASE can I have some new episodes of The Wire?"
Granted, they may not be full episodes, but search for season four on Amazon.com, and you'll find a link to three little prequel films about key characters. It's not the first time that shorts have been used to promote an upcoming box set release (season four in this case) or new series (they'll be aired after episodes from season five, which starts in January in the US) - as mentioned in the Hollywood Reporter, Big Love and Entourage have also done it, but theirs weren't as widely available. Unconnected to the plot - so no spoilers, don't worry - they're only two and a half minutes long, but frankly, it's enough to make one crazy-fangirl very happy.
The three films can be found here:
Omar as a teenage mugger A young Prop Joe, making deals in the playground, and Bunk and McNulty's first shift.
Yay.
You can, if you're up to this point already, also find promos for season five, handily collected in one place on this nice person's blog - but I can't promise a lack of spoilers there, as I haven't watched them (because I fear spoilers).
Now, Father Christmas, if you're reading this, can I change my order? I'd now like a million pounds. And David Tennant. K thnx bai.
