Have your say on the future of Perth High School

Members of the public are being invited to have their say on plans to replace a Perth secondary school.

Perth and Kinross Council is set to submit a planning application to replace the building of Perth High School.

This would include creating a new playground area, new sports pitches, parking areas and landscaping.

A pre-application consultation event will take place on Monday, October 28 at the school on Oakbank Road.

Members of the public will be able to find out more about what is proposed and make comments.

A spokesperson for Perth and Kinross Council said: “There is a public consultation on a forthcoming planning application to be submitted to Perth and Kinross Council development management by NORR Architects, agent for the applicant, Perth and Kinross Council.

“The proposal is the erection of a replacement school and formation of playground areas, sports pitches, parking areas, landscaping and associated works at Perth High School, Oakbank Road, Perth.

“Members of the public are invited to attend a drop-in session in the assembly hall at Perth High School on Monday, October 28 between 4pm and 8pm.

“The event will provide information on the proposed development and the project team will be in attendance to discuss the initial proposals with interested parties.

“Further information may be requested by emailing ECSResources@pkc.gov.uk

“Anyone wishing to make comments on the proposals may do so at the event or in writing to Perth and Kinross Council, project support team, education and children’s services, 2 High Street, Perth, by Monday, November 11.

“Any comments made to the applicant are not representations to the planning authority.

“If a planning application is subsequently submitted there will be an opportunity to make formal representations on that application to the planning authority.”
