Have your say on Covid restrictions ending in our Great Big End of Lockdown survey

Covid restrictions are coming to an end across the UK - and we want to know how you feel about it. Scotland and Wales are following England and Northern Ireland in lifting their legal restrictions as we approach the second anniversary of the UK’s first coronavirus lockdown.

Next Wednesday (March 23) will mark two years since Boris Johnson announced the first UK-wide lockdown as the threat of the pandemic became clear. Almost two years on, Scotland will lift most of its remaining laws on Monday, March 21, while restrictions in Wales are expected to end a week later on Monday, March 28.

Rules on face coverings in shops and on public transport will remain in Scotland until April due to a rise in cases. But Covid certainly isn’t over. Experts in Australia say the new variant, BA.2, is among the most infectious diseases ever seen - six times more transmissable than the original Covid.

And Good Morning Britain's resident GP Dr Hilary Jones has warned that restrictions could return across the UK as hospitalisations increase. The relaxation of restrictions and the spread of a new variant of Covid has seen infections in the UK increase 48% week on week. More than 12,000 people in England are currently in hospital with Covid and in the most recent week more than 700 people died with the virus.

But how do you feel about restrictions ending? Are you glad to be putting lockdown behind you, or are you worried about another wave? Do you feel your way of life has been changed forever by the pandemic, or are you looking forward to the return of normality. Have your say by taking part in our short survey below - and you can also sign up to our InYourArea newsletter to receive the latest news near you.
