“When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life,” said Samuel Johnson. Now many of the city’s residents disagree, fleeing London to get a life. The reasons are often financial, but can also be a desire for a change of pace or new experiences. It could even be the policies of another Johnson.
We’d like to hear from people who’ve left the capital – whether that’s to another city, the countryside or even abroad. And also from those who are welcoming them (or not).
What’s it really like when you leave? Has the move been everything you’ve hoped for – or have there been unexpected downsides? We’d like to hear about your experiences – both the good and the bad. What do you miss most about London living and what are the benefits of where you live now?
Share your stories – and photos and do let us know where you’ve moved to and your reasons for leaving London. We’ll publish the most interesting responses on the Guardian site.
