The registration deadline for voting in Britain’s referendum on membership of the EU is fast approaching, yet there are reports of confusion amongst both voters and those not eligible.
According to claims reported in the Express, some non-UK citizens currently living in the UK, who do not meet the eligibility criteria for voting in the referendum, have received polling cards through the post.
Meanwhile some people are using social media to share questions about the voting and registration process. Some have received polling cards and not the postal votes they have applied for. Elsewhere there is talk of issues arising from deceased relatives who have not been deregistered from the electoral roll and even one mention that we could spot of an under 18-year-old receiving a polling card.
Any issues regarding voter turnout, registration or voting papers can be seized upon by campaigners on either side of a vote to call results into question, so with your help, we’d like to understand how widespread - or not - these issues with voting in the EU referendum are.
