Have you ever pulled a Lisa Wilkinson? Tell us your story

Lisa Wilkinson will leave the Today Show to join The Project.

Lisa Wilkinson has dominated the headlines after announcing she had left Channel Nine's Today Show to join The Project on Channel Ten.

And according to reports, it's because Wilkinson, who was reportedly on a $1.1 million contract, had demanded equal pay to her colleague Karl Stefanovic, who earns a reported $2 million salary.

But Channel Nine chief executive Hugh Marks reportedly said Wilkinson had demanded $2.3 million and that her commercial commitments with other parties limited her value to the network.

News Corp reported she was offered $1.8 million by the network. Channel Nine, meanwhile, said it was "unable to meet the expectations of Lisa Wilkinson and her manager on a contract renewal".

So we're asking:

  • Have you ever demanded equal pay to your male counterparts?
  • How did it work out?
  • Is asking for equal pay a luxury for those who can actually afford to lose their jobs?
