Once the 2024 season wraps up, the Pittsburgh Steelers are going to have some serious decisions to make about the quarterback position. The team has started Justin Fields and Russell Wilson this season and both quarterbacks have had their ups and downs. Both quarterbacks are also set to the free agents in 2025 and it is highly unlikely the Steelers can or would re-sign both.
According to ESPN NFL reporter Adam Schefter, the Steelers want to re-sign Wilson in the offseason but questioned whether or not they would.
Schefter offered up nothing to do with Fields as an option for the Steelers this offseason despite going 4-2 as a starter this season.

Four weeks ago, we’d have guessed Wilson was in line to get a huge new contract from some team at the end of the season but after the team has fallen apart the last three games, this cannot be a given at all. At this point, it feels more like Pittsburgh will try and lowball Wilson and hope to keep him and then draft a young guy to eventually replace him.
