Have Nottingham Forest had bid for Brazilian striker accepted? Here's the lowdown

Nottingham Forest have NOT had a bid accepted for Brazilian striker Carlos Vinicius, contrary to speculation.

It was rumoured on social media that the Reds had been successful with an offer of between £7m to £9m for the Napoli forward.

But Nottinghamshire Live understands there is no truth in the transfer gossip.

Forest reporter Paul Taylor says: “Talk of Forest having a bid for Carlos Vinicius accepted is not right… expect Forest will invest in transfer market this summer, but probably not to that level on one player.”

Vinicius has already been linked with Wolverhampton Wanderers this summer, with Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport claiming the Premier League side would have to splash out close to £18m for his services.

Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo has reportedly watched the 24-year-old, with the club having tracked him for several months, and it is claimed that agent Jorge Mendes is looking to assist with the deal.

It is said Vinicius is likely to leave Italian giants Napoli this summer, having spent last season on loan at Rio Ave, in Portugal, and French team Monaco.

He bagged 10 goals in 30 appearances for the two clubs.

Forest have made one signing so far this summer, in attacker Sammy Ameobi, who joined before the managerial change which saw Sabri Lamouchi replace Martin O’Neill at the helm.
