Broadmeadow Magic have pulled off possibly the coup of the season by signing game-changing goalkeeper Alison Logue as Herald Women's Premier League gets set to launch this weekend.
Magic coach Jake Curley has recruited well in his second season in charge, adding former W-League players Ash Brodigan and Kirstyn Antoni (nee Pearce) to his squad. But the last-minute addition of Logue, who also has W-League experience, to replace injured shot-stopper Jess Schultz could prove pivotal.

Logue nursed a knee injury through the end of last season and was planning to have time off before being coaxed into playing for Magic. Curley said it took two days for Logue to make a decision but was thrilled to have her on board.
"Alison benefits us a lot," Curley said. "She just has a presence.
"A couple of weeks ago, we had Jess Schultz but she fractured her knee and tibia playing soccer Fives. If it was any other player we would've been able to cover it. But goalkeepers are super hard to find."
