'Have Derby learned from Bielsa's footballing lessons?' Pundit's take on Leeds United play-off clash

Former Leeds United midfielder David Prutton is predicting a tight but entertaining game between his former side and Derby County in their play-off semi-final first-leg.

The Whites, who missed out on automatic promotion to Norwich City and Sheffield United, will meet the Rams at Pride Park on Saturday evening, knowing the play-offs are now their only chance of playing Premier League football next season.

But despite such a positive season for Marcelo Bielsa's side, they come into the game without a win in their final four league games, while their hosts claimed a 3-1 win over West Brom on the final day of the season.

Marcelo Bielsa reveals the rule he has told his players to follow ahead of Derby County clash

But Prutton believes his former side must pick themselves up quickly following their recent set-backs.

"In terms of drama this game should be right up there, even without taking into consideration what happened between these sides earlier in the season," the former midfielder told SkySports.

"More importantly for Derby, they have been given a footballing lesson by Marcelo Bielsa and Leeds twice, and you can only hope for the Rams' sake that Frank Lampard has learned from that.

"Leeds, in form terms, are not playing well. They picked up just a point from their final four games and now they have to pick themselves up again quickly.

"This should be closer than the two league games were."

Prutton's prediction - 1-1
