Haunting last tweet of 'healthy' NHS nurse who died from coronavirus on frontline

The nurse who died from coronavirus while on the frontline tweeted about how she 'loved her journey' and was "still going" days before she tested positive.

Mum-of-three Areema Nasreen, 36, passed away in the early hours of today after being on a ventilator at Walsall Manor Hospital where she had worked for 16 years.

Areema developed a temperature, body aches and a cough on March 13 and later tested positive for Covid-19.

Just four days before Areema tweeted a picture of a job offer letter from Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust from 2003.

With it she wrote: "17 years on Allhamdulillah still going love my journey. @WalsallHcareNHS...House move finding special memories!!!"

In another tweet from April last year after graduating Areema wrote: "Never thought I  could see this amazing day.

"Thank u to Walsall Manor Hospital for believing in me.

"Countles's people one who was me struggle to believe that they have the right to dream. But please follow through, and yes with commitment compassion support dreams do come true."

Areema is the youngest NHS worker to die from coronavirus so far during the outbreak.

Areema's sister said she was 'fit and healthy' before the diagnosis with no underlying conditions.

Devastated friend Rubi Aktar paid tribute to Areema on Facebook.

She wrote: "She was the most loveliest, genuine person you could ever meet, she went above and beyond for everyone she met.

"I’m so grateful that I had the honour to call her my best friend, she saw me at my best and my worst and accepted my every flaw. I am so broken that words can’t explain.

"I can’t believe I will not see your smile again.

"You made me the nurse that I am today, with your support, motivation and inspiration I am the nurse that I am today and I hope I can do you proud Areema.

"I love you so much and I will never forget you. You had so much to live for, I am sorry you didn’t get to see your kids grow up and I’m sorry that you didn’t get to complete your career".

Areema was one of two NHS nurses to die from coronavirus within 24 hours.

Aimee O'Rourke passed away on April 2 at the Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother Hospital in Margate, Kent, where she had also worked.

The heroic NHS worker leaves behind three young daughters, Megan, Mollie and Maddie.

Aimee began showing coronavirus symptoms two weeks ago.

Her condition deteriorated and she was taken into intensive care at Margate's QEQM Hospital in Kent where she was put on a ventilator.

Aimee O'Rourke was described by friends as a "beautiful woman and valued NHS nurse" (GoFundme)

She remained in a critical condition, with family willing her to wake up, before she died yesterday.

She was described by friends as a "beautiful woman and valued NHS nurse".

Her heartbroken daughter, Megan Murphy, 23, wrote on Facebook : "It was us 4 against the world!

"Now us 3 will pull together more than ever!!! Look at all the lives you looked after and all the family’s you comforted when patients passed away.. you are an angel and you will wear your NHS crown forever more because you earned that crown the very first day you started!!!

"Your meggy misses you beyond belief.. one day when I have children of my own I will tell your grandchildren about there GG (glamorous gran) which you wanted to be called, every single day!

"I can’t believe one day I will have to go through labour without my mummy!!!
