Haunting final texts of woman to fiance before she died from MDMA overdose

A 21-year-old woman revealed she was scared about taking ecstasy, shortly before she died from an overdose at a music festival.

Chilling texts sent by Diana Nguyen to her fiance say she was "so scared" of taking MDMA.

He urged her not to take "too much" of the drug at the Defqon.1 dance music festival in Sydney, Australia.

Tragically she collapsed while dancing with two friends, who had also taken the drug, and medics were unable to save her.

In a series of messages sent to her partner, Ms Nguyen wrote: "I think I'm going to take 1 hahah"

She then continued: "It's been so long Im so scared."

He had earlier urged her: "Stay safe please n dont take too much please"

He later responded: "Hahahah smart choice I hope u dont end up full munted and someone takes a pic or video of u"

And he continued: "Okay babe jst stay safe n dont lose anything and also stay next too ur friends"

The messages were presented by New South Wales Police at an inquest into her death, news.com reports .

She died on September 15 last year after taking MDMA at the 30,000 capacity festival.

The inquest heard Ms Nguyen bought three tablets - one for herself and two friends - from someone she knew, and a further three from strangers.

A short time later she was described as "incoherent and sweating" and "shaky on her feet" while drinking water on a dancefloor.

The festival's medical team struggled to give her oxygen because she went into spasm.

An ambulance crew rushed her to hospital, but she went into cardiac arrest before she arrived.

The inquest heard that although she had taken MDMA "sporadically" in the past, she had not used the drug for about a year before her death.

Sadly Ms Nguyen was not the only fatality that day.

Aspiring teacher Joseph Pham, 23, also died after being taken ill 15 minutes before she was.

He died in hospital the same evening.

Authorities in Australia are currently holding an inquest into the death of six drug-related deaths at music festivals between December 2017 and January this year.
