'Haunted' - What Arsenal fans are saying about star as ghost of Swansea City and Birmingham City man returns

It was a day many Arsenal fans won't forget.

It was November 9, 2014 and Swansea City were about to record one of their biggest results in recent history.  In brilliant come-from-behind fashion, Swansea beat the Gunners 2-1 at the Liberty thanks to a brilliant Gylfi Sigurdsson free-kick and an inspired performance from Jefferson Montero.

But the wet Sunday afternoon was a day to forget for one Gunner.

Calum Chambers - a recent £16million signing from Southampton - was turned inside and out by Montero in a display that went down in folklore in both South Wales and North London.

It can be argued that Chambers' career has never fully recovered from that day, although it must be noted that he was playing in an unfamiliar position of right-back.

After a couple of loan spells away from the Emirates, centre-back Chambers is now back in the Arsenal ranks and started - at right-back - against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League on Thursday night.

Unai Emery's men ran out 3-0 winners to put their highly disappointing 2-2 weekend draw with Watford behind them but fans were quickly reminded of that fateful day in the rain in Landore.

Not all agreed, however, with some clearly impressed by the versatile defender's showing.

Arsenal's defence has been lambasted in recent weeks, with new signing David Luiz conceding two penalties so far this season and Shkodran Mustafi and Sokratis Papastathopoulos remaining far from convincing.

Chambers could well be set for a place in the starting XI if he can maintain a good run of form.

Montero is currently on loan with Birmingham City, but is on the sidelines yet again through injury.

The Ecuadorian is out of contract at the Liberty next summer, meaning he has probably played his last game for Swansea.
