A man has been arrested over the Hatton Garden heist three years ago which saw £29 million-worth of jewellery stolen from safety deposit boxes.
A Scotland Yard statement said officers investigating the 2015 heist arrested a 57-year-old man on Tuesday on suspicion of non-residential burglary.
The suspect was arrested by Flying Squad, the branch of the Metropolitan Police which investigates commercial robberies, after a raid was carried out at an address in Islington.
"A number of items were seized from the address," Scotland Yard said. "The man currently remains in custody in a north London police station."
The audacious heist was carried out over the Easter weekend in 2015, when a gang ransacked 73 boxes at Hatton Garden Safe Deposit after using a drill to bore a hole into the vault wall.
Valuables worth millions of pounds, including gold, diamonds and sapphires, were taken.
Nine people were convicted and jailed for their roles in the raid, one of the biggest in British history.
Another thief, known only as Basil, was said to remain at large. He was instrumental in helping the gang get into the vault in the heart of London's diamond district.
