Hatem Abd Elhamed in Celtic pledge as Israeli provides injury update ahead of defining fixtures

Hatem Abd Elhamed insists he's desperate for a quick Celtic return after missing the Hoops' last two games due to injury.

The Israeli international has made a quick start to life in Glasgow having impressed during the early weeks of the season after joining from Hapoel Be'er Sheva.

And now the 28-year-old has hinted he could be set to hand Neil Lennon a major boost ahead of the mammoth double-header against AIK and Rangers.

Kristoffer Ajer has impressed during Elhamed' s absence but a return for the right-back would give the Hoops boss more options ahead of two mammoth matches.

Celtic take a commanding 2-0 lead to Sweden ahead of Thursday's Europa League showdown at the Friends Arena and know an away goal will likely be enough to see them through.

Then all eyes will turn to Ibrox as the Premiership champions face a resurgent Rangers with the great rivals set for a High Noon showdown.

The versatile defender took to social media to issue a Celtic rallying cry ahead of a defining week.

He said: "Can’t wait to get get back out on the pitch with the guys.

"Big week ahead."

Meanwhile, Celtic have reportedly made an offer to sign Gideon Mensah on loan from Red Bull Salzurg.

The 21-year-old is understood to be on the signing radar of a host of clubs and the Parkhead side are said to be in the mix to land him.
