Hatem Abd Elhamed a Celtic 'target' as Neil Lennon looks for defensive reinforcements

Celtic are lining up a move for Hatem Abd Elhamed - according to a report.

Neil Lennon has made no secret about his desire for defensive reinforcements and the Hapoel Beer Sheva man has emerged as a target.

The Hoops could land the 28-year-year-old for £1.6million, according to the Scottish Sun .

The Israel international signed a five-year deal with Sheva in 2017 but could now be on the move.

Celtic signed £7million man Christopher Jullien last week and also have Kris AJer and Jozo Simunovic competing for starting berths.

The Hoops can register up to two wildcards before next week’s Champions League clash with Sarajevo.

They have signed Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo for £7million and may yet sign Romain Perraud if a transfer for Kieran Tierney is sanctioned.

On the other flank, right-back Jack Stacey remains a target but Bournemouth are believed to be interested.
