'Hate to say it' - Tottenham fans have Harry Kane transfer theory after England vs Scotland

Tottenham fans have a Harry Kane transfer theory following his performance for England versus Scotland.

The 27-year-old, who has been heavily linked with a move away from Spurs this summer after hinting that he could leave the club, has not looked at his best so far for his country in the European Championships.

Kane was widely criticised for his performance in the Three Lions' 1-0 win against Croatia last weekend, with the Tottenham striker very quiet in the 82 minutes he had on the pitch.

Similarly, the Spurs star struggled to get into the game against Scotland at Wembley in the second Euros group game, as he was substituted in the 74th minute after another despondent display.

Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been credited with an interest in Kane, but football.london understands he is yet to express his desire to leave the north London club.

Despite this, some Spurs fans have a rather tongue-in-cheek theory about how Kane may be lowering his price tag with some of his displays at the Euros.

In May, Kane conducted an interview with former Manchester United defender Gary Neville - where the Spurs man hinted about a departure from north London.

He said: “I think it’s definitely a conversation to be had with the club. I want to be playing in the biggest games. The biggest moments.

“Like, this season I’m there watching the Champions League, watching the English teams in there doing amazing.

“They are the games that I want to be involved in. I want to be in them games.

“So for sure, it’s a moment in my career where I have to kind of reflect and see where I’m at and have a good, honest conversation with the chairman. I hope that we can have that conversation.

“I’m sure that he’ll want to set out the plan of where he sees it but ultimately it’s going to be down to me and how I feel and what’s going to be the best for me and my career in this moment in time.

“I hope we have a good enough relationship. I’ve given the club… well, I’ve been there 16 years of my life.

“So, I hope that we can have a good, honest conversation and see where we are at in that aspect.”
