Hate sitting at the back of a plane? This new design will transform your aircraft experience

  • German company Collins Aerospace has unveiled a new aeroplane seat system called "SkyNook", designed to transform the experience of sitting in the last row of aircraft.
  • The SkyNook features a privacy divider and an additional console, which can be utilised as a table, a bassinet for infants, or a carrier for pets.
  • This innovative design aims to make use of the typically underutilised space at the rear of twin-aisle planes, where the fuselage narrows, often resulting in fewer seats.
  • The privacy divider provides a sense of seclusion and helps to dampen sounds from the galley and toilets, enhancing comfort for passengers.
  • Collins Aerospace, which won a Crystal Cabin Award for the SkyNook, anticipates that the system will be installed by its first customer by the end of the year.
