A man was ejected from a bus before being arrested following a "hate crime incident" on a popular Scots service last night.
Police rushed to the scene after a First Bus driver reported concerns about the behaviour of the passenger on board the number 6 service, which runs from Clydebank to East Kilbride.
Officers attended and removed the man from the bus on Battlefield Road, in the south side of Glasgow, at around 9.20pm on Wednesday, May 26.
An eyewitness told the Record they saw cops speaking to the man in the back of a marked vehicle with flashing lights on.
A Police Scotland spokesperson later confirmed the man was arrested following the incident.
First Bus insist they have a zero tolerance approach to hate crimes of any form and say they will continue to assist the police with their enquiries into the incident.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said : "A man was arrested after a hate crime incident which happened on a bus in Battlefield Road in Glasgow on Wednesday, May 26, 2021."
A First Bus spokesperson said: "We can confirm that police attended a service 6 vehicle in the Battlefield area last night after our driver reported concerns about the behaviour of a passenger on board.
"First Bus has a zero tolerance approach to hate crimes of any form – we’re continuing to assist the police with their enquiries into the incident."
