Hatchet-wielding masked pair hospitalise man in shocking Meath car park attack

A man was attacked in a Meath car park yesterday afternoon by two hatchet-wielding masked men.

The incident happened on the Killegland Road, Ashbourne at around 3pm. The victim, aged in his 30's, was sitting in a parked grey jeep when he was targeted by the pair.

Officers on the Meath Crime Prevention Facebook page said the two men "began striking" the man and caused "a number of substantial lacerations to his limbs". The men then fled the scene on foot possibly via the field at the rear of Bourne Avenue.
