A spooky Halloween party for dogs and their owners is coming to the city centre this October.
For the fourth year running, Hatch is hosting its annual Halloween event celebrating Manchester’s spookiest dogs.
The aptly named ‘Howl-oween’ has proven to be hugely successful since it launched in 2018, with dogs and their owners taking the chance to get dressed up in their scariest outfits and mingle with the other four-legged ghosts and ghouls.
Taking place on October 31, entry is free for all attendees, and the first 50 people through the door will be gifted a Halloween-themed gift bag, with plenty of doggy treats.
One of the highlights of the day is the ‘Spooky Pooch’ competition, which runs from noon to 3pm.
Judged by BBC Pooch Perfect’s Tom Heaton-Clarke, along with a panel of some of Manchester most celebrated stylists and costume designers, dogs will be marked on four categories in order to be initiated into the Halloween Hound Hall of Fame.
The categories include ‘Best Small Dog’, ‘Best Medium Dog’, ‘Best Large Dog’ and ‘Best Owner/Dog Combo’, with fancy dress a must for participants in the show. Trophies and hampers are up for grabs.
Attendees can walk through a variety of pop-up stalls selling everything from pet food to accessories.
There’s even a doggie disco hosted by local DJs The Swaywards, where you can expect a playlist of pup-themed hits to be played throughout the venue.
Howl’oween 2021 takes place from noon to 5pm.
