KOLKATA: There’s no stopping Mohammedan Sporting Club and David Lalhlansanga. The Aizawl player once again scored as MSC recorded a hat-trick of wins in the Calcutta Football League Premier Division beating Pathachakra SC on Tuesday. The full house at the MSC ground returned a content lot as the Black Panthers blew away their rivals 4-0.
David opened the floodgates when he scored off a melee in front of the goal after Pathachakra goalkeeper failed to hold on to a Beneston Barreto shot.
David, who has scored in all the matches so far, remains the highest scorer in the league so far netting five goals. In spite of dominating proceedings, MSC, however, had to wait till the second half to increase the lead when medio Bikash Singh scored in the 61st minute.
With Pathachakra failing to put up any resistance, MSC looked to increase the tally as Barreto, who missed some easy chances earlier, next found the target in the 84th minute with a powerful long-range shot.
Sujit Singh then converted in the 89th minute to complete the tally. MSC now have an all-win record and more importantly haven’t conceded a single goal so far while scoring 12 goals which must come as a great relief to coach Mehrajuddin Wadoo.
MSC will be up against Diamond Harbour FC, who defeated Calcutta FC 2-0 at Naihati on Tuesday. In the other matches of the day, Southern Samity and Peerless AC got past their rivals United SC and Tollygunge Agragami respectively by an identical 1-0 scoreline. Meanwhile Calcutta Customs defeated Aryan Club 2-1.
