Hasselbaink and Roy Keane agree on 'amazing' Chelsea star Reece James ahead of Man United clash

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was full of praise for Blues wing-back Reece James ahead of their clash with Manchester United.

The England international has been in fine form for both club and country in recent weeks, finding a goal scoring touch along the way.

The 21-year-old is the top scorer for Thomas Tuchel's side this season, finding the net five times with five assists in 14 appearances.

The dramatic increase in both the left and right-wing-backs being involved in goals comes as part of a slight tweak in Tuchel’s system, where he aims to deploy the wide players in a slightly more offensive way and it is reaping its rewards so far.

As part of the Sky Sports panel for the match against Manchester United, former Chelsea player Hasselbaink praised the right wing-back, stating: "Reece James has been amazing he’s playing his best football ever.

"He’s athletic but can play really well with the ball. He’s really confident and gets his jobs done. He’s very direct and good as well in front of the goal.

"For a wing-back to be able to do that is amazing to have in your team. He also has a lot of assists."

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane also added: "He’s having such a brilliant season.

"Right foot, left foot he is looking fantastic."

Those of a Chelsea persuasion will certainly be hoping that the form of the England international continues and at such a young age, it’s scary to think that he can continue to improve for the Blues.
