Klmtuhaq magazine published in its September's edition a dialogue with the so-called spokesperson of Hasm Movement who denied the return of Hasm to the scene and admitted the failure of the movement in Egypt.
Hasm Movement, an arm of Muslim Brotherhood, denied being the latter's movement, in an expected step after the degradation of the Muslim Brotherhood that is considered a terrorist organization in Egypt.
Hasm spokesperson admitted that the movement is linked methodically to Liwaa al-Thawra but he affirmed that there is a difference in the tactics and means. He noted that the movement is unlike Wilayat Sinai that pledged allegiance to ISIS in 2014.
Despite affirmations from experts to Asharq Al-Awsat newspaper that Hasm stemmed out from Muslim Brotherhood, Hasm stressed that it is an independent entity that doesn't belong to any party.
Twitter closed at the beginning of October Hasm account for spreading hatred and violence content.
An expert in the political Islam groups said that Hasm surfaced following ousting former president Mohamed Mursi due to the violence that prevailed. He added that Hasm presented itself as a national liberation movement in the beginning and chose soft goals such as targeting an ambush.
Liwaa al-Thawra announced its first appearance in Egypt during August 2016, after it claimed responsibility for the offensive against the ambush in Sadat.
The US designated in February 2017 Hasm and Liwaa al-Thawra terrorist organizations. This step was preceded by a UK decision in December 2016 to add the two movements on the terrorism list.
