'Has to go!' - Chelsea fans excited after England confirm Gareth Southgate's squad decision

Chelsea fans are excited about Gareth Southgate's decision to delay the announcement of the England squad for this summer's Euros.

The Three Lions tweeted the news on Monday evening, with the 26-man squad originally supposed to be revealed to the country on Tuesday afternoon.

However, Southgate will name a 'provisional' squad for the upcoming tournament, which will then be trimmed down to 26 players on Tuesday, June 1.

The England boss will then speak to the press to explain his decision at 2pm on Tuesday.

Chelsea supporters have taken to Twitter to express their excitement about Fikayo Tomori potentially being involved.

Tomori spent the second half of the 2020/21 season on loan at AC Milan and has impressed during his short stint at the San Siro.

The 23-year-old defender featured 17 times for Milan in Serie A, scoring the one goal in the process - and has been linked with a permanent move to the Italian giants.

The Telegraph reported earlier in the month that it is "inevitable" that Tomori will remain at Milan, either on an initial €25million deal, or another loan move, with the guarantee of a permanent contract after.

He currently has an option in his loan deal where the Italian club have an option to buy him for €25m, eventually rising to €30m.

Milan boss Stefano Piolo said this on Tomori earlier this month: “We want to buy Tomori on a permanent deal from Chelsea.

"Our intention is clear and also Fikayo's decision (staying at Milan).

"We'll see what happens at the end of the season.”

As things stand, Thomas Tuchel has Cesar Azplicueta, Thiago Silva, Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger as his centre-back options.
