Has Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang sent Nicolas Pepe clue in message to Alexandre Lacazette?

Arsenal's players have taken to social media to share their interest in the signing of Nicolas Pepe in recent days.

However, during the Emirates Cup match against Lyon, striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appeared to use the Ivorian's own goal celebration after finding the back of the net.

Was this a case of fans reading too much into an innocent reaction or could the Gabon international have been letting on he knew something more?

It wouldn't be the first time that the former Borussia Dortmund forward has been involved in transfer window intrigue.

Back in January 2018, following the signing of Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Manchester United, in a deal that saw Alexis Sanchez move in the other direction, the Armenian appeared to shout out to Aubameyang out of shot in a video released by Arsenal.

The theory was ultimately proved correct, and following his goal celebration at the Emirates, the striker has repeated the gesture once again, this time on Instagram.

In a message sent to Alexandre Lacazette, Aubameyang can be seen holding his left hand to his brow with the caption: "Where are u?"

Pepe is close to being confirmed as an Arsenal player and is said to be in London finalising details over the move as well as underdoing his medical.

Both Aubameyang and Lacazette are expected to play important roles in making sure the Lille forward is fully integrated into the squad, with their partnership up front likely to be augmented by the winger's introduction.

Last season, Pepe scored 22 goals and set up 11 assists in Ligue 1 and could be the missing piece of the puzzle out wide for Emery down a flank that has lacked quality of late.
