Has Nottingham Forest forward Zach Clough sent out deadline day message to potential suitors?

Has Nottingham Forest forward Zach Clough sent out a message to potential suitors, with the transfer deadline looming?

It is understood the 24-year-old is among a number of players who the Reds are looking to move on as they aim to cut the size of their squad.

Clough was not involved on the opening day as Sabri Lamouchi’s side fell 2-1 at home to West Bromwich Albion, and finds himself down the pecking order at the City Ground.

His last appearance in the Garibaldi came back in January 2018, in an FA Cup defeat at Hull City – 12 months after he had made the switch to Forest from Bolton Wanderers.

Since then, Clough has had loan spells with the Trotters and Rochdale, making 13 appearances and scoring one goal for the latter last term.

He was linked with a move to Oldham Athletic earlier this summer, and with his future on the banks of the Trent in doubt, seems to have sent out a message to any clubs who might be interested in securing his services.

He posted a picture of himself in action for the Reds on Instagram, writing: “Feeling fit and ready!”

The transfer window closes today at 5pm for Premier League and Championship clubs, but Forest will still be permitted to sell or loan players to other teams in divisions where the window remains open.

League One and League Two sides, for example, have until 5pm on Monday, September 2 to make signings.
