Has Marc Bircham hinted at future Notts County role?

Former QPR assistant manager Marc Bircham has fueled speculation that he could be on his way to Meadow Lane after he liked a supporters' tweet.

On Tuesday, the Post reported that the former Millwall man, 41, was being lined up with a role that would see him help Notts County 's future owners identify fresh talent ahead of their first season in the National League.

It is understood that he will join the Magpies in an unnamed role alongside current manager Neal Ardley if the South African consortium, , take charge.

Yesterday, one supporter tweeted Bircham saying: "Could definitely do with some footballing talent heading to Meadow Lane, Marc!

"It's a great club with huge potential, @MarcBircham. Hopefully you'll soon be in a position to help get some smiles back on the fans' faces.

"You'll certainly be made welcome," he added.

The English-born former Canada international liked the tweet, but did not respond.
