Has Love Island Australia been on ITV2 before? Down Under series kicks off

It' being billed as the show to help fill the void left by the cancellation of Love Island but Love Island Australia has actually been on before.

Over the past few weeks ITV2 has been flooded with ads for Love Island Australia, leaving fans of the UK version excited that they'll have something to get over their summer blues sparked by ITV confirming the UK show wouldn't be happening this year.

The ads claim: "It's the Love Island you love...just with a different accent."

However, if you're a fan of all things Love Island, chances are you will have seen Love Island Australia before as it was filmed two years ago and shown on ITV2's sister channel ITVBe in August that same year.

If you didn't tune in first time around, prepare for plenty of drama as, having watch it back then, I can confirm there there are some serious car crash moments and some absolutely savage recouplings.

The fact that it is now two years old does mean you're advised to not do too much searching on social media for the contestants as you'll probably find out who won, what they're up to now and if they're still together with their on-screen other half.

Oh and also be prepared to be captivated by Love Island Australia host Sophie Monk and her fierce strutting everyone time she gets set to drop a bombshell on the villa.
