Has Joao Carvalho's girlfriend dropped a big hint about his Nottingham Forest future?

Portuguese midfielder Joao Carvalho was last week heavily linked with a move to join Olympiacos.

Reports speculated that Nottingham Forest owner Evangelos Marinakis was 'looking at ways' to move the 22-year-old to Olympiacos, also owned by the Greek shipping magnate, in a deal that would see Martin O'Neill given a healthier transfer budget without the implications of Financial Fair Play.

On Monday, Reds CEO Ioannis Vrentzos side stepped the rumours, stating that “the two teams operate independently, with their sole focus on their own success.”

But now Carvalho's girlfriend, Andreia Silva, has hinted on her Instagram that Forest's record signing will remain in Nottingham next season.

While answering questions from her followers on Monday night, Silva was asked: "Will you still be living in Nottingham in three months time?", to which the 23-year-old fashion designer, using a picture Carvalho had taken of her enjoying a day in Old Market Square back in February, provided the answer that all Reds fans wanted to hear.

"I never know, but I think yes, I will," she said.

"It's [Nottingham] a big city but it's not too big, with lots of restaurants, shops, coffee [shops].

"You have some places to walk and places to visit.

Joao Carvalho's girlfriend, Andreia Silva, made the post on her Instagram page (@andreiafsilvaa / Instagram)

"With more sun it would be perfect," she joked.

"It is difficult when you don't have your friends and your family near you, but I love where we live and the people are very nice."

The 23-year-old ended by saying: "How can someone not like Forest?".
