Has Arsenal transfer target Mario Lemina already hinted that he wants a move to north London?

Arsenal are set to make a summer move for Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina.

football.london understands there is interest from Arsenal in the midfielder, who would cost in the region of £15million, but a number of other Premier League clubs are also interested, namely Manchester United.

Interested parties have been put on red alert after the 25-year-old was left out of Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl's party for the pre-season tour of Austria on Monday.

It is understood Southampton do not want to loan out the former Juventus star - but would be interested in a straight cash offer for the 25-year-old who has made 46 appearances in two seasons, scoring two goals and creating two assists.

Lemina came through the ranks at French side Lorient before moving to Marseille.

After a loan spell with Juventus, the Italian giants signed him permanently, before he made the move to the Premier League with Southampton in 2017.

The midfielder received glowing reports from Arsenal scouts, but Arsene Wenger was not entirely convinced leaving the Saints with a free run at the player.

He may not have got his move then, but he could do now, and has he already stated that he would be keen to play for Arsenal?

When he was linked with a move to England, Lemina was specifically asked about Arsenal's interest.

He told Foot Mercato: "I am flattered by the interest of Arsenal. I am playing for a big club now but I am happy about the interest of other clubs.

"I do not have a preference for any league. My future depends on who really wants me."
