‘Has anyone been held accountable’: Adam Kinzinger is shocked, even now, that cops waited 77 mins while kids died

Former United States Representative Adam Kinzinger is demanding accountability in the Robb Elementary School shooting, more than 3 years after the incident.

On September 23, 2o25, referring to the black day in Texas history he wrote on X, formerly Twitter:
“I still am stunned, years later, that dozens of cops at Uvalde waited 77 minutes to kill the shooter while kids died. Has ANYONE been held accountable?”

For those unaware, on May 24, 2022, 18-year-old Salvador Ramos entered Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas, United States, and started firing at students, teachers, and other staff . A former student of the school, Ramos, killed at least 21 people, including 19 students and 2 teachers. He also severely injured more than 15 people. He continued to wreak havoc within the school premises for approximately 74 minutes before the authorities intervened and took him down.

After news of the incident became public, several people condoned it, with most demanding stricter gun control. Many also questioned the authorities especially concerning their delayed response to the incident. As details emerged, it was noted that the forces present within the school premises waited for more than 70 minutes to intervene during the shooting. Many argued that their prompt response could have saved several lives. They also upheld that these first responders should be held accountable for not acting swiftly during the shooting.

Following the incident, according to reason, on July 17, 2022, Texas House of Representatives Investigative Committee released a report in which it said:

“At Robb Elementary, law enforcement responders failed to adhere to their active shooter training, and they failed to prioritize saving the lives of innocent victims over their own safety.”

The report also acknowledged the failure of the law enforcemement authorities and their inability to act according to plan. They said: “Uvalde CISD [Consolidated Independent School District] and its police department failed to implement their active shooter plan and failed to exercise command and control of law enforcement responding to the tragedy.”
