CHANDIGARH: A total of 93 FIRs have been registered till Thursday and 176 persons have been arrested by the Haryana police in connection with the Nuh violence.

Among these, 46 FIRs were filed in Nuh, 3 in Faridabad, 23 in Gurgaon, 3 in Rewari and 18 in Palwal district.
Sharing more details about the developments in this case, T V S N Prasad, additional chief secretary (home) Haryana said that the attack on the cyber police station in Nuh could be a major attack on the security of the country and the state and it would be thoroughly investigated. He also confirmed that a centre of a Rapid Action Force, a riot control force, will be set up permanently in Nuh.
Prasad also informed that the situation in Nuh and neighbouring districts is entirely under control. He informed that the DGP will personally monitors the situation by visiting Nuh and the affected areas.
Prasad expressed concern about the attack on the cyber police station, considering India's rapid development and its position as a potential third economic superpower. He said that the state government takes cybercrime seriously and is actively addressing the issue. Consequently, the attack on the cyber police station, situated near the national capital Delhi, warrants a thorough investigation.
The ACS (home) issued a stern warning to those sending provocative messages through social media, asserting that the government is closely monitoring such activities. Anyone found guilty of spreading unrest through these means will face strict legal action. He said that the situation in the Nuh area is gradually returning to normalcy, with internet services temporarily suspended until Saturday. The further course of action will be determined after reviewing the situation.
On a question regarding allegations by the Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot that Haryana police had not cooperated when the Rajasthan police had visited Haryana with regard to the investigation in Nasir-Junaid murder case, the home secretary said that he is not aware about it but assured all cooperation to the Rajasthan police.
Committee for social media
The Haryana government has constituted a committee to monitor social media platforms to prevent provocative material videos/photographs/hate speech from being circulated so that law and order and community harmony is maintained. The committee will coordinate with all the relevant agencies to take remedial/coercive measures. While special secretary (Home-1) would be the chairman of the committee, SP (CID), deputy secretary (IT) and interception Assistant working in the ACS (home) would be its members.
