Haryana: STF Sonipat arrests hardcore criminal with bounty of Rs 25,000

CHANDIGARH: The Special Task Force (STF) of Haryana police on Sunday claimed to have arrested a hardcore criminal carrying a bounty of Rs 25,000.

Identified as Dharmender, the accused was living under fictitious identity of Sultan Khan, a resident of Kishanganj district.

According to information, initially he was slapped with a lifer in a murder case of 2003. In the year 2014 he had jumped the parole and in 2015 he was declared proclaimed offender and a bounty was announced.

Acting on the tip off, a STF team from Sonipat headed by inspector Satish Deswal apprehended him. Initially he denied his identity but later the team chased his records and he confessed his fictitious identity and involvement in crime.

"After getting fictitious identity he continued with the criminal acts. He is notorious criminal having dozen of criminal cases of murder, loot, dacoity, theft and ransom". Deswal said.

"Further interrogation is in progress and we are hopeful of solving lot of murder myteries and incidents of loot," Deswal said.
