CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Haryana on Monday reported 234 new Covid cases with Gurgaon reporting a single-day spike of 198 new cases. But no death was reported while 148 persons recovered during the day.
Himachal Pradesh reported 15 cases while seven patients recovered during the day. Meanwhile in Punjab, as many as 29 cases surfaced on Monda, while no death was reported..The number of Covid-free districts in Haryana has gone down to six. While increased cases have resulted in increase in positivity rate that was recorded at 3.31%.
The cumulative Covid count has reached 9,87,230 cases, 9,75,615 recoveries, 10,618 deaths and 974 active cases. While 15 patients are hospitalised, the rest of the active patients are in home isolation and are stable, an official said.
Shimla has so far reported 2,84,698 cases, out of which 63 cases are active, 2,80,501 patients have recovered and 4,115 patients have died. On the vaccination front, 34,169 persons were given vaccine doses In Haryana during the day.
The first dose was given to 9,284 persons, second dose was given to 18,847 persons and 6,038 were given the booster dose. In Punjab, 31,353 individuals were given Covid-19 vaccines. tnn
