Haryana, Punjab and Himachal Pradesh report 211 fresh Covid cases

CHANDIGARH/SHIMLA: Haryana, on Monday, reported 30 cases, six deaths and 58 recoveries. Sixteen out of 22 districts did not report any death and no new case was reported from seven districts.

One death each was reported from Hisar, Panipat, Sirsa, Bhiwani, Jind and Fatehabad districts in Haryana.

A total of 56 fresh cases surfaced in Punjab while two people died of the virus on Monday.

In the last 24 hours, one death each has been recorded in Fatehgarh Sahib and Sangrur. Meanwhile, in Himachal Pradesh, 125 new Covid cases were reported while 163 patients recovered As for vaccination, Haryana reported a high of 1.15 lakh vaccine jabs during the day.

Of the total of 1,15,062 people vaacinated in Haryana, 73,478 received the first dose while 41,584 received the second.

With this, cumulative vaccine coverage in the state has reached 1,06,87,894. In Punjab, 9,838 people were vaccinated on Monday, of these, 6,207 received the first dose and 3,631 were given the second dose.

A total of 2,13,224 healthcare workers received the first dose while 11,42,946 healthcare workers received the second dose.

A total of 11,42,766 frontline workers received the first dose while 2,78,085 frontline workers received the second dose.

Positivity rate in Haryana was reported to be 0.15% on Monday, while cumulative death rate was reported at 1.25%. Recovery rate remained stable at 98.65%.

When in comes to cases, in Haryana, Bhiwani reported the highest of five cases for the day followed by four cases from Gurgaon, three cases each from Karnal, Palwal and Jhajjar districts.

Two cases each were reported from Panchkula and Fatehabad districts while one case each was reported from Kaithal, Rewari, Krukshetra, Yamunangar, Rohtak, Sirsa, Hisar and Fatehabad districts.

In Punjab, nine persons tested positive in Amritsar, eight each in Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, five in Mansa, four in Ludhiana, three each in Bathinda, Gurdaspur, Jalandhar and Kapurthala, two each in Mohali and Muktsar and one each in Fazilka, Fatehgarh Sahib, Pathankot, Patiala, Sangrur and Tarn Taran.

Positive cases in himachal include nine from Bilaspur district, 61 from Chamba district, one from Hamirpur, 11from Kangra, two from Kullu, six from Lahaul-Spiti, 17 from Mandi, 14 from Shimla and four from Una.

Those who have recovered include 14 persons from Bilaspur, 26 from Chamba, seven from Hamirpur, 19 from Kangra, one from Kinnaur, seven from Kullu, two from Lahaul-Spiti, 26 from Mandi, 17 from Shimla, two from Sirmaur, 40 from Solan and two from Una.
